Braxzz Brewery - Non/low alcoholic Porter & IPA

[Also in english]

The Braxzz brewery from the Netherlands surprises consumers not only with a name that is horrible to pronounce, but also with beers that are non-alcoholic. The name Braxzz is derived from the word braxtor, which means brewmaster in Latin. This Brewery's beer selection also contains an IPA low on alcohol, as it contains 0,2% only. This brewery brews beers that are non or low alcohol beers only, it seems they have awoken to the always rising demand for non-alcoholic beers, and right on time. There aren't a lot of alcohol free beers on the shelf in the stores so it's good to have a wider selection. I wonder how long it takes to see Braxzz in Finland.

Braxzz Porter

Ulkonäkö & Tuoksu:
Tuoksu on miedohko, maltaita, tummaa siirappia, jopa rusinaakin. hiukan paahteinen, jopa kahvinenkin joskin miedohkosti. Kunnolla lasissa lämmetessä sai jopa suklaatakin tuoksusta irti. Vaahto on sellainen sentti ja katosi nopsaan, värihän on luonnollisesti musta.

Appearance & Taste:
The aroma is mild but you can still find malts, dark syrup and even some raisins in this beer. Although the aroma is not strong you can smell a roasted scent that has coffee like elements. When this beer warms up in your glass you will even start noticing chocolate from its smell. The foam was about one centimeter thick and it didn't last long. The color was naturally black.

Maku:
Aika hauskahan tämä on! Todella mustaa mallasta, oikein karrelle palanutta.

Taste:
This is quite fun! This beer has really dark malts (and I mean almost burned up). In some way this feels kind of oily in the mouth. The hops are really bitter, and are reminding of pine and resin. The taste lasts reaaaaally long as you can taste the malts for quite some time in your mouth. The body of this beer is kind of thin, which was no surprise, but you get enough flavor for your money. Even some modest chocolate flavors with coffee.

A non-alcoholic beer with a well retained taste, even though the thin body is a little odd for this type of beer. A Porter is a kind of good idea for a non-alcoholic beer because usually non-alcoholic beers are: a) tasteless or b) really sweet, so in that way this porter brings some variation.

Braxzz Session IPA

Ulkonäkö & Tuoksu:
Tuoksu on todella hedelmäinen, ensimmäisen kerran haistan oluessa rypäleitä. Tulee sellainen makea, siman kaltainen tuoksu.

Appearance & Aroma:
The Aroma is really fruity and for the first time I can smell grapes on beer. There is also a sweet and mead like scent. From below you can find grains that smell like biscuits that had me thinking of digestive cookies. In the end the aroma is quite okay because of the variety. The color is also spot on, like clear copper.

Maku:
No nyt on jännä, maku on sellainen makea sokeri vesi.

IPA taas pelittää ihan raikkaana janon sammuttajana.

Taste:
Well this is neat, the taste is like sweet sugar water. The malts are easy to distinguish and they taste like caramelized sugar. The hopping is decent but it could be a bit more powerful. The hops taste like grapefruit with hints of herbs and pepper.

Both beers are quite well made for non-alcoholic beers, although I would leave the porter on the shelf because I just like a more thicker taste for porters. This non-alcoholic version just can't do it. The IPA on the other hand works fine as a fresh thirst quencher.
